I'm Osman, and I'm part of the Victorian Government graduate program
I did a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Management.
My role in the Victorian School Building Authority was within the Performance and Reporting Unit. Our function is to ensure that the projects are delivered on time and on budget, to make sure that Victorian students across the state have the best opportunity to excel in their studies.
There are monthly oversight committee meetings that we need to present to. There are briefs to the Minister on a monthly basis, and so I will make sure that I get the data and information ready for that, but the day-to-day and how the mechanics from that day actually plays out is very flexible and you need to be extremely adaptable.
The programme is known to develop its talent, but also to give them active access to executives and directors. There is so much love and support that I've felt from seniors at that level.
I would definitely recommend the programme to others. If you come with a positive mindset, you will be able to learn so much from the amazing people that you have around you; people who love what they do, are completely dedicated to it, and can see the direct benefit to peoples' lives.
The work we do is truly meaningful.
